James Bernazzani, President and Co-Founder of the Youth Rescue Initiative, has been selected as the recipient of the 2010 Louisiana Public Citizen of the Year Award by the National Association of Social Workers, Louisiana Chapter.
The National Association of Social Workers Conference Awards Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 from 12:45pm to 2:00pm at the Baton Rouge Marriott.
The National Association of Social Workers, Louisiana (NASW-LA), is a 2,600 member organization and established a Public Citizen of the Year Award to honor an outstanding member of the community whose accomplishments exemplify the values and mission of professional social work.
The nominees are judged based on certain criteria, including making significant contributions to an area or population of concern to social work, acting with courage, demonstrating outstanding leadership, and exemplifying social work values and ethics.
The mission of the NASW-LA is to promote quality, integrity, unification and effectiveness of the Social Work profession while supporting social workers in their mission to serve diverse populations, and to ensure justice, equality, and opportunity for all citizens of the state.
